I am a retired educator with 40 plus years in radiologic technology and I still enjoy the profession. I currently work as an adjunct for TCC and a PRN technologist at one of the local hospitals.
Ten plus years with NTRTS, and I am still enjoying relationship!
I have served in several roles with NTRTS (president, vice president, board member, etc), but this new role of co-Business Manager is totally different. In its own way, it is more challenging than the positions I have held before. Prayerfully, Joy and I can continue the excellent job and commitment that Marilu has forged. If I had one wish for NTRTS, that would be that every imaging technologist in the North Texas area would join and commit to NTRTS to make it the best it can be!
When someone is asked about joining NTRTS, the first question he/she asks is “What is NTRTS gonna do for me?” Well, the answer to that question is, NTRTS provides approximately 14 hour (sometimes more) of continuing education every year. Of the 14 hours provided, approximately 6 are free to members because one CE is presented at each member meeting we have. The society hosts the Top 25 Annual Luncheon every year (25 technologists are honored for being exceptional in the field). This luncheon is recognized by ASRT as a premier event during National Radiologic Technologists Week. So, what is NTRTS doing? Educationally and socially, a lot!
